Sportco Model 44
Notes: This is a departure from the tried and true Lee/Mauser action rifles that were so popular as sporting weapons in the British Commonwealth at the time. The Sportco Model 44 has an adjustable trigger, and is loaded one cartridge at a time. The barrel is free-floating and capable of good accuracy with its long barrel. The Model 44 uses a Vernier rear sight along with a tunnel-type front sight. The Model 44 is primarily a target rifle, and is not normally used for hunting or sniping; however, the Australian police and military used it for sniping for a short time in the early 1980s.
