Birmingham Gunmakers Mk 5/Mk 6

Notes: These are short shotguns that are designed for MOUT and room-clearing operations. Despite their short lengths, they have full-sized barrels and are capable of combat at range as well as close-up. They have large tubular magazines, and are equipped with high-efficiency muzzle brakes. The large trigger guards make them useful when wearing heavy gloves. They can fire any sort of 12-Gauge ammunition of the appropriate measurements.

Twilight 2000 Notes: This was one of the SAS and SBS’s favorite room-clearing weapons.

Merc 2000 Notes: This weapon has been adopted by several unnamed military forces as well as by a large amount of European police departments.

Viking SOS

Notes: This shotgun is primarily known for its unorthodox appearance, said by some to be a combination of M-16 and SPAS-12. Viking says that it does have some utility as a sporting gun; it was designed primarily for use by civilians in home defense. It is thus easy to care for, uses one of the larger-sized magazines in a short-barreled shotgun, and tries to strike a balance between enough weight to keep barrel climb down and not being too heavy for the average out-of-shape homeowner. The barrel is equally-suited to firing shot, slugs, rubber rounds, batons, or even exotic loads such as rock salt! The biggest defect in the design is that one normally needs a gunsmith to adjust the sights; the Viking is not meant to go out of the dealer’s building without some sort of training for the buyer, and adjusting the sights is supposed to be part of this process. The shape of the stock is more meant to be trapped under the arm and the weapon fired from the hip than for the weapon to be aimed, and many users found that the Viking does not shoulder very well. As gun ownership laws in Great Britain could be a bit draconian, there was more export than domestic sales of the Viking.
