Obviously an intelligent and perceptive individual!  I won't say anything about his perfect command of English...

I sent this email, along with the headers above it, to abuse@hotmail.com.  Less than one day later, I received this message from Hotmail:

Mr. Law's email account with Hotmail was terminated within 24 hours of my receiving his email.  This is more than I expected from Microsoft; I fully expected to have to send the matter to my state's Attorney General.  Instead, they surprised me.  I may open a Hotmail account just to be nice to them, even though it is spam-bait.

To those of you who read this and also have Twilight/Merc 2000 sites, I ask:  Have you received similar emails?  If so, from whom?

As far as the web site listed in his email, it is an interesting one.  The person who started the thread in which my site is mentioned says I am selling weapons.  This is a slanderous accusation (he obviously put the word "Explosives" into a search engine, and didn't look at any other pages on the site), one that could get me in trouble.  I have emailed one of the addresses on the site (the webmaster address got kicked back), and told them I want the thread deleted.  As it has been four days since I sent that email (as of today, 6 Nov 01), and I gave him ten, and there has been no answer from the site, I fully expect that I will have to turn the matter over to my state's attorney general.  I also entered my own message on the forum, hoping to clear up any confusion.

On another tack, here is a piece of mail that is typical of mail I get about twice a week or so:

From GUENTHERKIM@aol.com

(Don't flame him; I'm sure he didn't mean any harm...I think...)

PAUL,..

I HAPHAZARDLY FOUND YOUR WEB SITE AND PEEKED IN.  WHAT COUGHT MY EYE WAS THE LIST OF ITEMS WITH PRICES ON THEM.
NOW DO U SELL THIS STUFF AND IS IT AVAILABLE.
BASICALLY THATS THE QUESTION I HAVE.

REGARDS
KIM

Here's the response I gave him, which is basically a variation on my stock response:

No, this is for a role-playing game called Twilight 2000.  It is set during and after World War 3.  I have no interest or capability of getting such things.  Yours is a common mistake by people who look at one or two pages and don't look at anything else on the site.

What are your experiences with this sort of thing, my fellow T2K webmasters?
