Rossi Circuit Judge

     Notes: The Rossi Circuit Judge is based on the Taurus Raging Judge revolver (Rossi and Taurus are essentially the same company, united under the Braztech concern), using the same cylinder and mechanism as that revolver.  Originally, the Circuit Judge was available in .44 Magnum/Special and .410 Gauge/.45 Long Colt, but the .44 version was quickly discontinued due to poor sales, leaving only the .410/.45 version.  The Circuit Judge is essentially the Raging Judge revolver with a stock and a carbine barrel.  The stock may be of Brazilian Hardwood or of synthetic material, and has a butt with a ventilated recoil pad. Circuit Judges with hardwood stocks may be had in polished stainless metalwork or a polished black finish; synthetic-stocked Circuit Judges come only in the polished black finish and black synthetic stocks. (.44 versions come only with hardwood stocks.) All have a short Picatinny Rail over the cylinder with a fully adjustable rear sight in front of the removable rail and a fiberoptic front sight. Under the front of the handguard is another short Picatinny Rail. Like most revolvers, the double-action trigger pull weight is a bit heavy, but the Circuit Judge can be easily thumb-cocked. The barrel is 18.5 inches and does not have any provision for choke tubes.

     For a short time, Rossi sold a lever-action model of the Circuit Judge in a hardwood stock.  This version had a bobbed hammer and an almost vertical throw lever. The trigger pull is single-action all the time so that pull weight is at the lighter weight.
